Editing currency amounts

Here is a typical currency edit control:

Notice that the button, to the left of the text box, is in the down position. The three currency controls on the Accounts tab: Salary, Initial Balance & Expenditure, all have these 'ON/OFF' buttons. In the 'ON' (down) postion the text box is editable and the amount is included in all calculations. If the button is 'OFF' the amount cannot be edited, and is not included in the programs calculations

There are a number of different ways of directly altering currency amounts:

  1. Click in text box and type in a new amount. Pressing ENTER or clicking outside the text box will confirm the change, and update other values.

Note: Pressing ENTER will also add this amount to the drop down list (see picture above)

  2. Clicking on the right or left sides of the spin buttons (to the far right of the text box) will respectively increase or decrease the amount in the text box by approximately 1%, and update all associated values.

Tip: If greater precision is required, the currency value can be adjusted by the smallest amount possible, by holding down the SHIFT key whilst clicking on the spin buttons.

  3. A click on the drop down button will display the values (if any) stored in the drop down list*. A single click on any value in the list will place it in the text box and update all associated values.

*A drop down list is a list of previously entered values which 'drops down' when the button to the right of the text box is clicked. At any time, the current value in the text box can be added to the drop down list by pressing the ENTER key.
